My Sherlock Holmes Adventure – Part 1

Hey everyone,
Now I’ve been watching a TV series called ‘Sherlock’ on TV recently, and the interesting storylines and characters instantly made me decide on attempting to write my own little Sherlock adventure, now for those that have seen the TV show, (with the dark haired Sherlock, with all the cool phone text/menu animations) the characters in this story you should picture as the ones in the show, all the extras I add in you can imagine who they look like.
Let’s begin.

My Sherlock Adventure – Part 1 – by Ben
*Creak *THUMP* *Creak* *THUMP*
“Sherlock!”
*Creak *THUMP* John rests the shopping bags on the landing of the wooden staircase and crouches down with his hands on his knees to catch his breath.
“Sherlock! Can you give me a hand down here please!” He says raising his head up towards the apartment doorway.
“I’m busy!” calls Sherlock’s voice from upstairs
John sighs, “You asked for this stuff, if you want this stuff you can bring it up.”
“Oh if you insist . . . really it isn’t that much more of an effort than the last shopping trips you’ve been on.”
“Isn’t that much more?! . . .”
Sherlock rummages through the bags laying in front of John’s feet while he’s talking.
“. . . It’s more than I’d buy a family of 5 little own . . .”
Sherlock pulls out a few items, and collects them, placing them between between his elbow and his chest.
“That’s all I need,” he says walking back up the stairs.
John looks with his mouth open slightly as he watches Sherlock walk up the stairs in a hurry.
“Unbelievable . . ” John says looking back down at the bags, preparing for another climb.

After awhile John finally makes it up to the top of the stairs and drops the bags on the floor of the kitchen,
“You alright your majesty? Got everything you needed?” He says walking over and slumping down on the couch across from Sherlock.
“No actually, you forgot the 2 rolls of plumbing tape, along with the shoe polish and pack of toothpicks, you’re so unreliable I may as well start going to the shop myself,”
John rolls his eyes, then asks, “What’s with all this stuff any ways?”
“Plumber,” mutters Sherlock,
“Plumber?”
“Yes, plumber, do pay more attention.”
“What about the plumber?”
“He’s dead.”
Sherlock’s phone vibrates, making a choppy whining sound, it takes only moments for Sherlock’s face to light up as he reads the text message saying, k you can come observe the body now, and it only moments more for Sherlock to leap from his tattered armchair and run out the door towards the stairs.
“Hang on Sherlock! We have to pack these groceries in the refrigerator,”
Sherlock doesn’t stop, his footsteps still can be heard as he calls, “Just do it later!”
“They will go off if we leave them here,”
The footsteps stop, a slight sigh can be heard and the footsteps begin climbing back up the stairs until Sherlock reappears at the entrance. Sherlock then says quickly,
“Groceries happen to be very dispensable these days you can buy them on almost any street corner in central London, dead bodies however, aren’t easy to obtain, now can we please can we go, for I have a dead body to see and plumbing tape, shoe polish and toothpicks to pick up.”
Sherlock then darts out the door again, his footsteps down the stairs sounding much faster than before.
John stares at the groceries for a moment then heads out the door mumbling,
“I don’t know why I bother…”

Well there we go, Part 1.
The amount of Parts that I make to this story is up to you, I have more waiting ready to be posted, but it’s up to you to comment and tell me what you think!

Sunset Pictures



Taking a picture of a sunset can be frustrating, the picture never looks how the real sunset does, it’s just inevitable.


Because part of the sunsets appearance is the atmosphere around you, not just what you see.


There are cameras these days that offer ‘Sunset Modes’ and different lighting modes for taking pictures of the sun as it hides behind the horizon, this picture to the left however I took with a standard 5 Mega Pixel HDR Camera.


In my mind, with a sunset picture, even though you don’t get what you see, you get a nice effect that still looks good, even though it is less than half as good as its predecessor.


Sunset pictures, I find, can bring an interesting effect when taken so that the landscape and trees are silhouette, or black. 
Almost like the image above, except you can see the grass, if the grass were darker and not that light, the silhouette effect would definitely be at play.

 I took a few pictures to demonstrate the effectiveness lighting, of the angle, and where you take the photo.


All these sunset pictures, including the first one, were all taken within a few minutes of each other, on the same day.


To the right we see a picture which is angled slightly so that the landscape is diagonal, the picture is also slightly blurry due to the light reflecting across the camera and interfering with the capture. The picture doesn’t look very good, does it?



The picture to the left is from behind some trees, as you can see the picture is good, but the colour of the sunset cannot be seen very well, it’s not absorbed very well, although the silhouette on the tree branches is a nice effect.


Now may also be the time for me to tell you that none of these pictures have received special treatment, meaning no photo shop or any touch ups, these are straight from the camera.
We have 3 photos,
– The first was taken in an area with a shadow over it, with the horizon in the centre of the picture, sky across the top half of the picture, land across the bottom half, and the sun in the middle a little bit to the right.
– The second picture was taken on an angle with the sun and the sunlight coming from the right of the picture.
– And the last picture was taken behind a tree, with the sun being behind the tree, but other than that the sky in the top half of the picture, and the land on the bottom half.

The other thing to note when taking sunset pictures, is that the picture WILL vary depending on:


-When you take the photo, if you take it near the end of the sunset, when the sun is barely in sight you’ll probably get a silhouette effect.


– Conditions, as you can see the photo to the left was taken with clouds in the sky, giving the clouds a light up colourful ’ember’ to them.


-General, in general every sunset is going to be different, they are often individual in terms of their appearance.


Well hope you read the different pointers and info listed in this post, the most important thing, is for you to look at the photos, and decide on what YOU think looks good, so wait until the next sunset, run outside and go snapping pictures, take more than you need to, try different effects and go through them and see what you think.

 It’s another Michael Buble original! Yeah!
All Michael’s original songs always make you feel happy, and they aren’t droopy and sad like most modern day artists, I would call his originals “Light and Fluffy” . . . hmmm
The music video of  ‘Hollywood’ is amazing, it’s by far one of the best music videos I’ve seen in a long time, and it even bags out Justin Bieber! (Image to right)

This song is definitely a compliment to Michael Buble’s career

Today, many may say that after Health I was depressed, crabby. Yeah well, join the dots, it’s BECAUSE of health that I’m looking depressed and crabby, lovely bloody health, bringing light to so many lovely realizations of how ridiculously pathetic and stupid the human race really is. 


During Sex-Education everyone is having their fantasies and laughing over the stuff that’s been repeated every year since grade 5, how they can still find it funny and amusing I don’t know, anyways, out of this, instead of hearing “ejaculate”, “pleasure” and “gets inserted into the” I fell into another thought cloud moment, springing off thousands of thoughts and a whopping headache by the time the day ended, and unlike everyone else who attends a sex-education class, my thoughts were not of such “common factors.”


What are you on about this time?


Well here’s what, every living thing on the planet reproduces, whether its the germs, parasites splitting into two, or trees releasing pollen into the air to grow other trees, along with all animals having sex to reproduce, in a more than similar way. Basically, any living thing, that doesn’t reproduce, wouldn’t exist.


By instinct we have this fantastic *sarc* urge to love and reproduce in order to keep the race going, just like the germs, we will eventually get bigger and bigger spreading like a parasite, we will consume the Earth, we already are, think of the Earth as a being and all us humans, animals and trees are all germs eating away at it’s health.


That’s not the thing that bugs me, what bugs me is the fact that, our sole purpose, is to reproduce, that’s all we’ve been made to do, I mean think about it, puberty starts off at 9-17 gearing up all your sexual organs, to try and get you to reproduce early so that you have enough time to quadrupilate (my new word) by the time you reach 20, everything in life try’s to drag you to it, attraction, puberty, love. Throughout life your body will produce sexual stuff, eggs, sperm la-di-da-di-da




I mean imagine the world without these feelings, what is it then?
There would be no relationships, or love, because wouldn’t stimulate anything, you wouldn’t feel anything from it. It would all be friendships, and nothing more than that. Would it be fun?


I’d like to say yes, but its a double sided issue, while it would be great that you could be with friends playing by a lake with lush green grass and a sunset skimming across the trees, and not have feelings get in the way in how you act or feel towards your friends, you could be more open, more free, more sense in your mind without hormones choosing for you.


The bad thing is, in this case is that we wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for these feelings, you wouldn’t have parents, but you wouldn’t be here either.
So the lovely world I see, wouldn’t exist.


Sigh. . .


Instead we are left in this world with the stupid expectation of one-day having sex, kids, the lot. By instinct pressure is built up.


And some may say, “Ben, you’re just afraid,” no, not afraid ‘disappointed’ and ‘disgusted’ are the words to say.
For we are controlled by some force, some instinct, to do something that everyone thinks is under their control, here’s a newsflash people, it’s not your decision, you can’t choose who you find sexually attractive its implanted in you, it’s all clouded in this feeling of control so that it feels natural, why shouldn’t it, IT IS NATURAL.


Here’s the biggest thing, came to mind a lot.
‘Pleasure’ you get pleasure from going off, doing the deed so that you can reproduce, think about this? Am I the only one that sees this and feels this way?


It’s a lure.


You feel good about it, the force behind this rubbish, is dangling a carrot on a stick, the carrot being pleasure.
You feel good about being in love,
You feel good about ‘doing the deed’
You feel good about kissing and touching
All these feelings are individual, you can’t get them any other way, you can’t feel the feeling of love, in any other way than to love, you can’t get the pleasure of kissing and touching without kissing and touching.


These things have all been designed in care, each with a pleasure of their own that you can’t get anywhere else, they stand out, and it’s all to lure you in to do what you were created to do, reproduce.




It’s almost like when you were little, having a calendar to mark how many times you brushed your teeth or made the bed.
If you did what you had to do, you were given a reward.


The human race obviously doesn’t change much.




The best cure the human race could make,
Would be one that removes these feelings and hormones.
For I consider it an illness, something weighing us down.


Without hormones and these feelings, we would have more concentration.


To work on things that actually matter.

Me VS Me – Existence of God

Welcome to a brand new topic/category to give people something else to think about, HOLD ON, don’t run away yet, this new category isn’t about hating religion or god, (err . . . surprise?) No, I’m talking about a new topic/category called “Me VS Me” it’s where I have an argument with myself, yes it sounds crazy.


Basically I will take something and whip down two different views upon it, no picking sides in these posts, just war with myself. There will be a defensive side, and an attacking side, in each Me VS Me.


Me VS Me
Topic – “The Existence of God”


– Let me start this off by saying that I don’t think God exists, its a straight forward statement, but I see no possible way in it being possible, I mean think about it, some “being” that exists outside of time, space and reality, it’s just bogus, it’s the equivalent to Easter Bunny or Santa.


– Attacking something at that angle is quite absurd, Gods existence is as true as the Sun is to Earth, how do can you argue that something existing out of reality and time does not exist? You know only that of your ordinary life with limitations and boundary, God’s power goes beyond that of the life you know, and soars into stars of light and amazement.


– You say that I cannot argue that something doesn’t exist outside of reality and time, yet it works in appliance to the fact that you can’t prove that something DOES exist out of reality and time, your life, as quote, goes to “..that of your ordinary life with limitations and boundary…”


– Just because something lives outside of your life’s boundaries doesn’t necessary mean it doesn’t exist, for example, we could say that there IS gravity in space, but we all have different sources and ways of knowing that their isn’t gravity in space, even though we have never personally been there.
The same principle can apply to God, he may live outside of our life boundary, but we know that he is there, through the many signs he has given us.


– This isn’t going to start you off in your media-styled “truth” telling stuff will it? For example the “end of the world” is somehow foretold by this!

Somehow this passage says “The world is going to end in 2015”, Forgive me for sounding like Victor Meldrew, but how in the bloody hell! What happened to 2012?
Along with that I found this, describing the end of the world:

“We are very near the end of the world when the wrath 
of God will be poured out on all of us who refuse to 
repent for our sins and worship Him.“

Sorry what? That sounds like some forceful leader! Definitely not this kind, welcoming, forgiving Lord I hear so much about. And as for the world ending? If you guys are seriously that eager for the world to end go track down Osama and talk to him about it, something tells me the world is more likely to die at his hand than it would be that of Gods.

– Media-styled truth telling? As in the deception word morphing talk you just did?
For your information, the “Seventy ‘sevens'” means 70 Jubilee cycles, which is the equivalent to 3,430 years, this cycle first initiated in 1416 BC, and finishes in 2015 AD, the world of sin and rebellious behaviour will be cleansed from the Earth, as Jesus will make a second appearance on Earth.
God has been more than generous, he has watched us for over 6000 years as we sin and become more rebellious, more angry, all you have to do to confirm this is to look at all the kids we have today, people running round on the streets punching people up for fun, damaging property of other people, does it not seem more than fair that God would decide to rid the planet of this sinful behaviour, and start the planet clean for the good of others? That sounds caring to make such an enormous effort to make the planet safer for those that want to live an honest life.

– What, so your saying to live an honest life you have to be religious? I know many good people that aren’t religious, its just being stuck up to say that only followers of God are true of heart. And as for the return of Jesus? Oh please, you guys predicted that Jesus would return so many times now that’s its not funny, and as for the 70 Jubilee cycles . . . where did you pull that from? If in the verse it said something like “The world will end in 2015, because the 70 Jubilee cycles will end, they have been going since 1416 BCE” then I might be more inclined to believe it, but the passage didn’t say that, you guys did, ran off and came up with what it could mean like all the other conspiracy groups. Violence has been around for ages! Lets take the time to remember all the violence caused by believers of God, in the name of God, and all that jargon, what about the peace, love mentioned in the Bible?

– Alas, there are people that do not truly understand, some people, unfortunately did not have God in their heart, their actions were of selfish desire, and although marked in the name of God, doesn’t mean that God agrees and wishes upon their actions.
God is not to blame here, the world is in pain, suffering and death because of us, back in the time of paradise, we and Adam sinned, and because of that God gave us what we wanted, a taste of life without him, he gave us what we wanted. 
We are all lucky that God is forgiving, for he has given us what we wanted, and he is now willing to restore the world to its original paradise. A life with no death.

– We’re already getting overpopulated as it is, and as for dying, dying is something you can’t escape, it’s a natural part of life to keep a healthy population, without death we won’t be living in a paradise, but a cramped world, all of us living close and uptight. Personally I’d rather die, than live in filth with no space forever. And with no death that means there would be no food, I’m not just talking about eating cattle, vegetation would be eaten up by heaps of animals, and don’t tell me we wouldn’t have to eat, because Adam supposedly ate the fruit off the tree.

– God would make amends to prevent this, think of this, with all the sinful, cleansed from the world, there would be heaps of room for new people to live in happiness, forever.
And space would not be an issue, God could stretch paradise as far as the eye can see.

– Well happiness is over rated, there is only so long that you can live in a garden before you start getting bored, an eternity of repetitive nonsense.
You all try and scare us into believing, the Bible try’s to as well, much of the time it works.
All those that don’t believe won’t go to Heaven, they will die and go to Hell.
The world will end and all those that don’t believe will die and go to Hell.

It’s all death threats. What do you do in Heaven? Sit around for eternity doing nothing, what do you do in Hell? Sit around for eternity doing nothing.  
Either way it’s cut out for you.

Personally there’s a few reasons I think religion and the Bible were created.
Because maybe someone back then figured that the world was violent, and they needed a way of trying to get people to be kinder and civilised. Who knows.
Because they could use the promise of Heaven to get people to fight for them.
Because they were scared of death, and wanted to think there was something afterwards.

In the end you can’t argue to the point, and you can’t prove that God doesn’t exist, and when you die and find out your wrong, well you won’t be able to know that you’re wrong, you’ll just be gone, that’s it.
It’s an argument that will continue to go through the future, and will never be resolved.

– Let’s not forget who started the argument.
Your belief is your belief.
I do not wish to talk on this topic any further.

I feel sorry for you, I will pray that you come through in the end.
